Understanding Our Risk Tier System

SafeSide Team·July 10, 2026·1 min read

What Are Risk Tiers?

Risk tiers are our way of quickly communicating the level of concern associated with a particular driver based on community reports. They help you make informed decisions before booking a ride.

The Four Tiers

No Reports

This driver has no reports on file. This doesn't guarantee safety — it simply means no one has reported an experience yet.

Informational

A single report has been filed. This could be anything from a minor inconvenience to a more serious concern. Read the details carefully.

Caution

Multiple reports have been filed against this driver, or a single report has been flagged as concerning. Exercise extra caution.

Elevated Caution

Serious reports have been filed. We strongly recommend avoiding rides with this driver if possible.

How Reports Influence Tiers

Our system automatically recalculates risk tiers as new reports are submitted. Each report's severity, category, and verification confidence factor into the calculation.
